The Minnesota Timberwolves closed out the first round of the 2024 NBA Playoffs in style, sweeping the Phoenix Suns with a 122-116 victory in Game 4 on Sunday night in Phoenix. Led by All-Stars Anthony Edwards and Karl-Anthony Towns, the Timberwolves prevailed in a taut contest to secure a 4-0 series victory.
Rudy Gobert was a force in the paint for Minnesota, dropping 19 points and grabbing 14 rebounds. Edwards added 25 points and 7 assists, while Towns chipped in with 22 points and 11 rebounds. The Timberwolves' defense also stepped up in the crucial Game 4, limiting the Suns to just 37% shooting from the field and 28% from three-point range.
With the sweep, the Timberwolves advance to the second round of the playoffs, where they will face the Memphis Grizzlies in a rematch of last year's Western Conference semifinals. The Grizzlies currently hold a 3-1 lead in their first-round series against the Golden State Warriors.
